Workflow Guides

Workflow Guides

Step-by-step walkthroughs for common research tasks. Each guide takes 5–10 minutes.

Finding Viral Content

Discover trending videos in any niche before they blow up.

  1. Open Sidebar → Videos tab
  2. Enter your niche keyword (e.g., home renovation tips)
  3. Set date range to last 7 days to focus on fresh content
  4. Set Minimum Views to 10000 to filter noise
  5. Set Sort By to View Count
  6. Click Search Videos
  7. In the results sheet, look for videos with high Like Count and Comment Count relative to views — this indicates strong engagement, not just algorithmic push
  8. Check the Subscriber Count column — viral videos from small channels signal a hot topic

Pro tip: Run the same search weekly with “Create New Sheet” checked to track which topics are consistently trending.

Competitor Analysis

Map out what competitors are doing and where they’re falling short.

  1. Open Sidebar → Discover tab
  2. Enter your niche keyword, set Subscriber Count to your target range (e.g., 10,000–500,000)
  3. Click Discover Channels to find competitors
  4. Pick 3–5 top channels from the results
  5. For each, go to Menu → Research Tools → Channel Analytics
  6. Enter the channel URL, select Weekly period, Last 30 periods
  7. Click Start Channel Analytics Tracking
  8. Compare across channels: upload frequency, average views per video, engagement trends

Pro upgrade: Run Content Gap Analysis (AI Tools) with competitor channel names to find topics they’re missing.

Discovering Rising Creators

Find emerging creators before they hit mainstream attention.

  1. Open Sidebar → New Creators tab
  2. Select Rising Stars mode
  3. Set Maximum Subscribers to Under 10,000
  4. Set Active Within to Last 30 days
  5. Enable Smart Search Modifiers for better results
  6. Click Discover New Creators
  7. In results, sort by Creator Score (highest = most potential)
  8. Review the Creator Type and Classification Reason columns for context
  9. Check the Near Misses section below the main results — these channels almost qualified and may be worth watching

Alternative: For deeper analytics on each creator, use Menu → Research Tools → New Creator Research (dialog version) which adds view metrics, growth rates, and engagement percentages.

Dormant Channel Acquisition Research

Find valuable inactive channels for potential acquisition or partnership.

  1. Open Sidebar → Dormant tab
  2. Set Inactive Since to 6+ months ago
  3. Set Minimum Subscribers to 5000 and Minimum Videos to 10
  4. Enter a niche keyword
  5. Click Find Dormant Channels
  6. Review results — look for channels with high subscriber counts but zero recent activity
  7. Select a promising channel row → click Deep Dive Selected Row
  8. On the Deep Dive sheet, scroll to the Emails and Social Media sections — these are extracted from the channel’s video descriptions and about section
  9. Use the extracted contact info to reach out to the channel owner

Tip: Use the Days Since Upload column to prioritize — channels dormant for 1–2 years with 10K+ subscribers often have owners who’ve moved on and may be open to offers.

Tracking Video Performance (Pro)

Set up daily monitoring to see exactly how videos grow over time.

  1. Menu → Tracking & Automation → Daily Video Tracking
  2. Enter the channel URL you want to monitor
  3. Name the session (e.g., “Competitor Launch Tracking”)
  4. Set Tracking Duration to 14 days
  5. Choose Detailed analytics depth
  6. Click Start Daily Tracking — the initial data snapshot is captured
  7. Each day, either:
  8. Open Menu → Tracking & Automation → Manage Tracking Sessions → click Update on your session, or
  9. Enable Automated Daily Updates (checkbox in setup, or via Automation Dashboard) for hands-free tracking
  10. After the tracking period, review the consolidated sheet — look for videos with accelerating view growth (exponential curves = viral potential)

AI-Powered Content Strategy (Pro)

Use all three AI tools together to build a data-driven content plan.

  1. Menu → AI Tools → Content Gap Analysis
  2. Enter your niche, set Deep Analysis, check keyword trends and competitor analysis
  3. Add 2–3 competitor channel names
  4. Click Find Content Gaps — review the underserved topics and opportunities
  5. Pick your top opportunity → Export to Google Docs for reference
  6. Menu → AI Tools → Metadata Optimization
  7. Enter a draft title and description based on the gap you found
  8. Check all optimization focus areas (SEO, CTR, Watch Time)
  9. Click Generate Suggestions — review the title alternatives and tag recommendations
  10. Take your best title → Menu → AI Tools → Video Performance Prediction
  11. Enter the optimized title, your niche, and channel metrics
  12. Click Predict Performance — check the expected view range and engagement forecast
  13. Export all three reports — they’re saved to your Reports folder and logged to the Master Research Log for future reference

Result: You now have a topic (Content Gap), optimized metadata (Optimization), and a performance baseline (Prediction) — all before shooting a single frame.
